In 2008, Swanmet completed the construction of a new casting plant on an adjacent plot to its Malacca operation. Doubling the plant land area and adding new capacity to remain a leading one stop solution foundry. The extended plant will solely be used for manganese steel casting and will have 2 x 6 industrial furnace, which will allow Swanmet to cast parts as heavy as 8 tonnes per operation.
New machining and fabrication machinery were also enhance Swanmet's ability to meet its customers highet standard of requirements. They are namely :
