Incorporated in Singapore and quickly established itself as a one-stop foundry, producing a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous castings for the local market. |
1980 |
Swanmet's Resarch & Development department was established together with a metallurgical laboratory. Prodcution facilities were upgraded to cater for the more sophisticated needs of a maturing economy. |
1982 |
Initiated production of classed castings under the certification of classification societies, such as NKK and Lloyd. These products were mainly supplied to the shipyards, the oil and gas industries and for other high-end applications. |
1985 |
Swanmet won several defence sector projects. One these projects required the casting and construction of armour-plated bodies for military tanks. |
1987 |
The company was awarded the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) from the Singapore Institute of Standards and Industrial Research (SISIR). |
1989 |
Swanmet started its first overseas production venture by establishing a new state-of-the-art foundry in Malaysia. |
1993 |
The company became the first foundry in Malaysia to be awarded the ISO 9002 certification by the Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM). |
1999 |
The Singapore Sales Headquarters was awarded the ISO 9002 by Loyd McGill. |
2000 |
Established a second machining and fabrication facility in Malaysia. The new facility sits on a land area of 8,600 sq meters with a covered area of 2,700 sq meters. |
2006 |
Work begins for the construction of a third machining and fabrication facility in Malaysia. |
2008 |
Construction of a third machining and fabrication facility in Malaysia completed. Swanmet also begins the regeneration and upgrade of its other existing facilities. New fabrication and machining machineries adds to the capacity of Swanmet. |
